Located in Portstewart, the Port House is 4 miles from Portrush and 5 miles from Coleraine. Portstewart has 2 miles of Blue Flag beach popular with families and surfers. A convenient base for visiting the Giants Causeway, Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge, Bushmills with the oldest distillery in the world and Mount Sandel in Coleraine which is the oldest site of human settlement in Ireland. Golfers are very well catered for with 2 courses in the town and the famous Royal Portrush Links 4 miles away. The Portstewart course hosted the 2017 Dubai Duty Free Irish Open and The British Open was hosted by Royal Portrush Golf Club in 2019. Walking, surfing, horse-riding, fishing, canoeing and cycling are also available locally. The town has a great choice of fine restaurants and a vibrant social and cultural life. The Causeway Coastal Way which runs from Portstewart to Ballycastle and passes along sandy beaches, rocky bays, high cliffs, seaside resorts and small fishing villages. Many of the locations for the award winning TV series Game of Thrones can be visited locally including the famous Dark Hedges located on the Bregagh Road, Armoy and Ballintoy Harbour. Travelling west the City of Londonderry/Derry (UK City of Culture 2013) is only an hour away.
